The Åland Islands are a unique group of islands and islets in the middle of the Baltic Sea. Its archipelago consists of around 6 700 islands and is a self-autonomous part of Finland. Despite its mere 30 000 inhabitants Åland offers a rich culture life, long-lived traditions and many events, especially during the summer.
